Authoritarianism is toppled by serious and persistent nonviolent action.

Nonviolent action is a resistance against injustice and oppression without using physical violence. It focuses on strategies that can undermine the power of our opponent.

Nonviolent action right now in our community is protest and persuasion. Nonviolent action in the days to come will take it to the next level: Noncooperation and intervention. Please read the articles by David Books and Robert Reich cited below to understand what this means and remember, our community is in this together.

For today and the next few weeks ahead, we need to keep doing what we're doing. We need to be together and make our voices heard. We need to support those in need right where live - our food banks, our libraries, our schools, our immigrant neighbors We need to make sure our local institutions - our police departments, our local West Chester University - aren't bending at the knee.
